Furniture suction cups work best on clean, smooth, nonporous surfaces such as glass or polished tile. Check that the cup fits the furniture foot and the surface is flat, without seams or deep scratches. Wipe both areas with a damp cloth, then dry them fully. Dust and moisture can weaken the seal. Small detail, big difference.
Press each cup firmly into place, starting at the center and pushing out trapped air. Follow the product’s instructions for any locking tab or recommended waiting time. Before moving the furniture, test each cup with a gentle pull. A cup that looks attached may still have a loose edge; I’ve found that checking the rim is easy to forget. Don’t rely on suction cups to secure tall or heavy furniture against tipping, or to support people. They can release without much warning.
Inspect the cups regularly, especially after cleaning or moving the furniture. Lift an edge carefully to release suction rather than yanking the furniture sideways. Wash cups with mild soap and water, then let them air-dry; harsh cleaners or sharp tools may damage the surface. Replace cups that are cracked, stiff, warped, or no longer hold. Even careful installation is not a guarantee, so keep furniture stable and use suitable anchoring where needed.
